Privacy policy
Last updated: 29 October 2026
This privacy policy explains what personal data findeatlocal.com (“Find Eat Local”, “we”) collects, why, and what rights you have. We collect as little as we can: we do not sell products, run user accounts or sell data.
1. Who is responsible for your data
The data controller is RES REI d.o.o., Zgornja Kungota 5C, 2201 Zgornja Kungota, Slovenia (company registration number 3550966000, VAT SI76648010). Contact for all privacy questions: [email protected]. Full company details are in our legal notice.
2. What we collect and why
Server logs
When you visit the site, our web server automatically records technical data: IP address, date and time, the page requested, browser and device type, and the referring page. We use it to deliver the site, keep it secure and fix errors. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running a secure website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). Logs are kept only as long as needed for these purposes and then deleted.
Statistics (Google Analytics, only with your consent)
If you accept statistics cookies in the cookie banner, we use Google Analytics 4, loaded through Google Tag Manager, to understand how visitors use the site: which pages are read, how visitors arrive, and which links are clicked, including clicks on booking links. Google Analytics uses cookies and processes your IP address, device and browser information and usage data. Legal basis: your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR). Without consent, these tools are not loaded. Analytics data is kept for no longer than 14 months. The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Data may be transferred to Google LLC in the United States, which is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
GetYourGuide (booking widgets and partner analytics)
Our pages show tour widgets and links from GetYourGuide Deutschland GmbH, Sonnenburger Strasse 73, 10437 Berlin, Germany. To display the widgets, your browser loads a script from GetYourGuide servers, which receive your IP address and browser data. The same script reports to us, in aggregated form, how our links and widgets perform. When you click a link or widget and go to GetYourGuide, GetYourGuide’s own privacy policy applies, and GetYourGuide sets its own cookie so that a booking can be credited to us. We never receive your name, contact or payment details from GetYourGuide, only aggregated reports of clicks, bookings and commissions. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in showing bookable experiences and measuring our partnership (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Comments
If you leave a comment, we store your name, email address, website (optional), the comment, your IP address and browser user agent, to publish and moderate comments and prevent spam. Your email address is never published. An anonymised string created from your email address (a hash) may be sent to the Gravatar service (Automattic Inc.) to check whether you have a profile picture. Legal basis: your consent when you submit the comment and our legitimate interest in moderating it. Comments and their data are kept until you ask us to delete them.
If you write to us, we use your email address and message only to answer you and keep the correspondence as long as needed for that. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in replying to you.
3. Cookies
Essential cookies (for example, to remember your cookie choice) are always set. Statistics cookies are set only after you accept them. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time through the cookie settings link at the bottom of every page. Details of each cookie are in our cookie policy.
4. Who receives your data
Your data is processed only by us and by the providers needed to run the site: our web hosting provider, Google (statistics, with consent), GetYourGuide (widgets and partner analytics) and Automattic (Gravatar, for commenters). These providers act under data processing terms or their own privacy policies. We do not sell or rent personal data.
5. Transfers outside the EU
Where data is transferred outside the European Economic Area, for example to Google LLC in the United States, the transfer is based on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
6. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access your data, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to its processing, to data portability, and to withdraw your consent at any time without affecting earlier processing. To use these rights, email [email protected]. You also have the right to complain to the Slovenian data protection authority: Informacijski pooblaščenec (Information Commissioner of the Republic of Slovenia), Dunajska cesta 22, 1000 Ljubljana, www.ip-rs.si.
7. Changes
We update this policy when the site or the law changes. The date at the top shows the latest version.
